Bears love a good scratch. Most have their favorite tree or rock and it will be well marked. My daughter and I came across one such tree on one of our jaunts. It was rubbed almost smooth on one side and the ground around it was scuffed and full of tracks. The poor tree was bent and starting to suffer a little, The tracks were fresh. We didn't hang around long, wouldn't want a bear to think we were interfering with one of his favorite toys.
